None of this started as a portfolio. It started as one short-let apartment in London that had to work, and every venture since has come out of a problem the last one created.
The apartments needed a system, so the system got written down. Writing it down turned it into something teachable, which became the academy. The academy needed somewhere for members to talk to each other, which became the campus. The campus filled with people who could make things but could not sell them, which became the creator programme. And the whole thing earns, which is what funds the foundation.
The rule underneath all of it
Own the system, not the asset. Marlex runs fifty-five apartments without owning a building. The academies teach without a campus. The label produces without a factory. Where the leverage sits is in the specification, the process and the relationships — and those are the parts that travel.
