I am the first of four children, raised by Esther Uwaibi, a businesswoman
and single mother. Her strength, discipline and resilience shaped who I am today.

Who I am

I didn’t inherit opportunity.
I learned to create it.

I am Lolo Marie Achebe. An entrepreneur, investor, educator, wife,
mother and, above all, a woman who believes that where you begin
in life should never determine how far you can go.

  1. A humble beginning

    My story did not begin with property, wealth or a grand business plan.
    It began more than 20 years ago, as a young woman with ambition,
    responsibility and a determination to create something of her own.

  2. Fashion taught me business

    Fashion was my first business and my first real classroom in entrepreneurship.
    It taught me about customers, creativity, money, discipline and the courage to
    turn an idea into something people would pay for. I saved what I earned,
    reinvested what I could and gradually began looking beyond the business
    I had started.

  3. My first steps into property

    Those savings eventually helped me take my first steps into London’s
    property industry. I started with no property of my own. Today, I lead a
    respected serviced accommodation business operating over 55
    apartments across some of London’s most sought-after locations,
    including Tower Bridge, London Bridge, Canary Wharf and beyond.

  4. Lessons that last

    That journey did not happen overnight. There were risks, difficult
    decisions, mistakes and moments when I had to learn things the hard way.
    But each stage taught me something valuable: you do not always need
    to own the assets to build a successful business. You need knowledge,
    discipline, relationships and systems that work.

  1. Turning experience into education

    As MARLEX Apartments grew, I realised that the experience I had gained
    could help others find their own way into the property industry. That belief
    led me to establish Digital Property Boss Academy, transforming years
    of practical experience into education, mentorship and opportunities
    for aspiring entrepreneurs.

    Today, I have helped over 400 people take their first steps into the Airbnb
    and property business. For me, that achievement means just as much
    as the business I have built myself.

  2. A bigger vision for Africa

    But my vision was never going to end with property. Technology was opening
    doors, digital skills were creating new income opportunities, and talented people
    could increasingly build businesses that reached customers far beyond their own
    countries. That realisation became Achebe Africa Digital Academy (AADA).

    I believe Africa’s greatest resource is not beneath our soil. It is in the minds,
    creativity, talent and ambition of our people. That is the belief behind the words
    I created for AADA: Built in Africa. Paid Globally.™

  3. An ecosystem of opportunity

    Today, that vision continues through Achebe Campus, our growing learning and
    community ecosystem, alongside ventures spanning fashion, hospitality, digital
    education, technology and media.

    My fashion brand, House of Zalex, brings my entrepreneurial journey full circle.
    Our media and community initiatives reflect another belief I hold deeply: people
    need more than information. They need platforms, visibility, meaningful
    connections and opportunities to be heard.

  4. A legacy of giving

    And then there is the part of my journey that means something deeply personal to
    me: Achebe Hope Foundation. Through the Foundation, which I build alongside my
    husband, Chief Alex Ubaka Achebe, we are working to turn that belief into meaningful
    action, with a commitment to education, children, families and communities.

    For me, carrying the Achebe name is both a privilege and a responsibility. It is a name
    associated with an extraordinary African literary legacy, and I believe that heritage
    should inspire us to contribute something valuable to the future.

Success was never supposed to stop with me.

Giving back since 2016.

I know what it means to grow up watching a mother make sacrifices to give her
children a better future. That experience shaped my belief that no child’s potential
should be limited by poverty, and no family should face hardship without hope.

Today, alongside my husband, Chief Alex Ubaka Achebe, we are building on that
commitment through education, support for mothers and families, and feeding the vulnerable.

I didn’t begin with an empire. I began with ambition, responsibility and the determination to create something better.

From building MARLEX Apartments into a portfolio of 55+ London serviced apartments to developing businesses across fashion, digital education and media, I have learned that lasting success is not built on ideas alone. It takes courage to begin, discipline to execute, people you can trust and systems that allow a business to grow beyond you.

But building businesses was never the whole story.

Through Digital Property Boss Academy and Achebe Africa Digital Academy, I am turning what I have learned into opportunities for others. Through House of Zalex, I express my belief in feminine confidence and individuality. Through Achebe Hope Foundation, I am helping to turn success into meaningful impact.

I believe the true measure of success is not simply what you build for yourself, but what becomes possible for others because you built it.

I am proud of my African roots, the family I am raising, the businesses I have built and the woman I continue to become.
I want my children to inherit more than businesses. I want them to inherit values, opportunities and the courage to build something meaningful of their own.

Because for me, success is personal. Purpose is non-negotiable. And legacy is the bigger picture.
